I am a Registered Yoga Teacher at the 200 hour level, through the Yoga Alliance. I am currently working towards my 500 hour certification. I am also a Yoga for the Special Child®,LLC certified practitioner and hold my Masters of Science degree in Special Education.

I am an adjunct lecturer at Dowling College, where I teach Yoga. I incorporate Yogic philosophy based on Patanjali's Yoga Sutras, into the Asana series I have planned for the week. Additionally, I teach classes for the beginning student at Drishti Yoga Studio.

I teach Yoga with compassion and love. I believe that Yoga should be accessible to all no matter one's physical ability or age. I gently encourage my students to reach the asanas by coming out of their comfort zone, while still safely maintaining their body's alignment. This is done successfully with the use of Yoga props such as blocks, blankets, wedges, and even chairs or the use of a wall.

I specialize in alignment based Yoga. We take one pose at a time as the student maintains the hold of the posture to increase strength and flexibility. There are various ways to take a posture and with my guidance I lead a student into the posture safely and with correct alignment. When the posture is taken with the right props and with my gentle encouragement, students safely receive the maximum benefits of Yoga Asana.

I am the proud mother of Ava, my Yoga Assistant, who has embraced Yoga as I have. She is my inspiration and has helped me design Yoga classes for children. One of the many ways I practice Yoga off the mat is selfless service. As part of teaching my daughter Karma Yoga I am also a member of her school's PTO council.
